COVID-19 Guidelines for CTA Leagues

COVID-19 GUIDELINES FOR CTA LEAGUES

  • Maintain social distancing (at least 6 feet) as much as possible.
  • To keep social distancing during changeovers, consider bringing your own chairs, or alternate who may rest on the bench.  No more than two players may sit on each bench at the same time, observing social distancing.
  • Only those who are playing will be permitted on the court.  Any spectators must stay outside the court area.
  • No physical contact with any other player.  Instead of "high fives" or shaking hands, tap tennis rackets.
  • No sharing of towels, food, drinks, or any other item while on court.
  • Designate one person on each court to be responsible for recording the scores on the score sheet and turning in the score sheet at the end of play.  No one else on that court should touch the score sheet or pencil.
  • For restroom breaks, only one female and one male are permitted in the pro shop at one time.  A thorough hand-washing or hand sanitizer should be used after the break.
  • Face masks may be used, if desired, but are not required.
  • CTA will try to ensure that hand sanitizer is available on each court and in the pro shop.  If spray sanitizer is available, players may use it on the tennis balls during each changeover.
  • Avoid handling tennis balls as much as possible, unless you are serving.
  • As much as practical, avoid touching other “high contact” surfaces – gate entrances, pro shop door handles, etc.  Wash hands thoroughly or use hand sanitizer if you must touch them.
  • When finished playing, remove all trash, drink bottles, empty tennis ball cans and can tops.  Place all unwanted items in the trash cans outside the court area.
  • Upon leaving the court area, wash hands thoroughly or use hand sanitizer and avoid social gatherings, unless social distancing can be maintained.
  • Anyone who is feeling sick or has any of these conditions should not play, but get a substitute:  temperature over 100.4, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, unusual muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste or smell, nausea, diarrhea, tested positive for COVID-19 or close contact with someone who has.
